Studio Luma: Scenarios for Salon-Ready Professionals is a DVD Series that follows main characters Silvie, Brad, Viv, Alice and Maya as they perform cutting, coloring, and chemical texture services on clients while problem solving challenges and striving for success. It was designed to give students a glimpse into their future, allowing them to observe a working salon and the types of situations they will face, ultimately feeling confident approaching them, and become fully prepared to take the next step in their journey to becoming a successful licensed professional.

Every episode depicts a technical procedure, explores the important theory topics that relate to each service, and presents the soft skills required to be successful, giving students the opportunity to see the importance in everything they are learning and how it all comes together in the salon.
Engaging animations are carefully placed throughout each episode to highlight and break down theory topics presented in the storyline to ensure emphasis, clarity and retention of important information.
An Instructor CD is provided that includes a lesson plan for each episode to assist with integrating the videos into your curriculum. Each plan includes an episode summary, episode length, technical and soft skills topics covered, learning objectives, and suggested classroom time needed to watch the episode and have classroom discussion.
The series is easy to incorporate into your existing cosmetology program. Kick off each week with 1-2 episodes scheduled throughout the duration of the program or view them with your class at your discretion depending on what you’re covering in your curriculum that day or week.
