Efrain Arroyave, M.D., is a retired plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He practiced in Miami Beach from 1988 to 1996. Along with several leading plastic surgeons from Beverly Hills, New York, and Miami Beach, he co-authored a book for skin care specialists titled Understanding Cosmetic Procedures: Surgical & Nonsurgical (2006). Dr. Arroyave was the founder and CEO of Medicus Media, the world's largest medical multimedia company for the global Latin Internet community, which published the medical section for Nexos Magazine, American Airlines' Latin-language, in-flight magazine. Letha Barnes is the former owner of three cosmetology schools and served as Vice President of Education for 32 schools in five states supervising a faculty of approximately two hundred. She also served as Accreditation Compliance Officer for the same organization with unprecedented results. In addition, her vast experience includes holding such positions as Chairman of the New Mexico Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists, having been appointed by three different governors, President of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools, and Vice Chairman of the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. Letha was the first educator in the United States to be awarded the distinction of Skills Assessor by the City and Guild of London and NACCAS.
Mark Beck had been a Milady author since the first publication of The Theory and Practice of Therapeutic Massage in 1988. Mark began his professional career as a massage therapist in 1974. He started teaching massage in 1978 and became a massage school owner and director in 1980. As school director for over 15 years, he developed curriculum, taught classes and continued a part time clinical practice. He served on the boards of a state and a national massage organization in different capacities including sec. of education, sec. of certification and president. In 1996 he earned a bachelor's degree in Vocational Education with an emphasis on massage therapy from the University of Idaho.
A skiing accident in 1990 resulted in a C-6 spinal cord injury that landed Mark in a wheelchair with quadriplegia. That ended his active practice as a massage therapist but did not quell his dedication to the profession or his desire to provide the best possible information to thousands of students entering the profession by continually updating and refining The Theory and Practice of Therapeutic Massage. Mark continued to be an advocate for excellence in massage education and accessibility for the disabled until he sadly passed away in November 2016.
Helen Bickmore is an industry veteran with more than 30 years in the esthetic industry. Richard Eidson is a hydrotherapist and hydrotherapy educator. He has also invented and holds three patents on hydrotherapy equipment. Lotz is the former owner and an instructor at the Oregon Institute of Aesthetics where she co-developed the school's esthetic procedures and curriculum.

Steven Schenkman is an established leader in the field of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. He served as President of The New York College for Wholistic Health, Education, and Research (now known as the NY College of Health Professions) from 1989 through 2001. Since then he has been a consultant to career colleges, allied health and business schools and schools of massage therapy. As a consultant he specializes in assistance with accreditation and administration, licensing, internal consulting, reorganization, curriculum and new program development, marketing and advertising and strategic planning.

She was inducted into the NABBA Barbering Hall of Fame in 2008. Dr. Scali-Sheahan has been a Career Institute educator since 2001 and an instructor since 1991. Edward J. Tezak has spent over 50 years as a professional in the barber/beauty industry. His career started as a barber and later as a barbershop owner. Mr. Tezak holds a B.Ed, M.Ed in education along with many educational certifications.
